(me & my dad summer of 86')
I truly admire my Dad in so many ways. He has always (and still does) work incredibly hard to support his children, and has always encouraged us to work hard to achieve our goals. One of my favorite things I remember my Dad telling me while I was growing up is a simple and short phrase..."tough." When I was upset that he made me work while earning a college education he told me "tough." When I was livid that he took away my car (and hid it at my grandma's house) because I didn't seem to understand the word "curfew" he told me..."tough."
I don't want to give any wrong impressions, my dad loves all of his children and gave us plenty of the things we needed throughout our childhood. But I'm so glad he taught me the value of hard work. I really believe that it has made me grow as a person and I can better face life's challenges as they come my way.
